De-Escalation

Two people stand opposite each other. One has their hands on their hips and flames coming from their head to represent an angry stance. The other person has an open posture with their hands spread wide. Heart in speech bubble means kind words spoken.

Workshop: De-escalation Training (Coming Soon)

Duration: Half day or full day

Sometimes we encounter upset or angry people. It is useful to know how to de-escalate their feelings – preferably before they turn to verbal abuse or physical violence.

Frontline staff are at increasing risk of violent and aggressive behaviour, both verbal and physical. Giving them the tools to de-escalate a volatile situation and calm people down is a great way to keep them safe.

We teach you how to recognise potential conflict and aggressive behaviour, what triggers it, and how to de-escalate it without putting yourself in danger.

This workshop can be delivered to community organisations in our Hamilton office, or at a venue of your choice in New Zealand. No previous experience is necessary.
