Interactionz is a community builder, focussed on building strong individuals who are the foundation for strong communities.

Our Practice

We have been perfecting how we work with the people we support for nearly 60 years. We keep up to date with national and international best practices and innovate to provide the most effective service.

Because we believe that what we do works, we want to spread our methods and philosophies as far and wide as we can so more communities benefit from our approach.

To do that, we teach our methods to community organisations like ours. The more aakonga/learners we can share our practices with, the wider our reach and the greater our impact.

How We Work

We share practical skills that you can use immediately to develop your own processes and enhance the way you work with people. Our sessions are dynamic and inclusive, and our trainers keep you interested and focussed. We want you to leave our workshops full of ideas and enthusiasm for how you can put these new skills into practice.

Interactionz is based in Hamilton. We can present workshops from our office, but we also travel across New Zealand and can present workshops at a venue of your choice. We bring our equipment with us.

If you want to find out more about the learning and development opportunities we offer, give us a call. We can customise training to meet your needs.

We facilitate workshops for:

  • youth workers

  • aged-care workers

  • disability-support workers

  • justice workers

  • teachers

  • community-agency facilitators

  • people who work with new immigrants

Our Workshops

Visual Planning

These workshops teach you how to help people create visual plans, including how to identify their goals, how to draw their ideas, and how to make clear step-by-step plans to achieve those goals.

Principles-Based Practice

These workshops help mentors (who support others to achieve their goals), carers, support workers, and facilitators who work in community organisations to become more confident, competent and flexible.

Engaging With Graphics

Visual communication is a very effective way of helping people to engage, understand, and recall information. We give you the tools and confidence to draw simple pictures and graphics to illustrate your message.

De-escalation

We teach you how to recognise potential conflict and aggressive behaviour, what triggers it, and how to de-escalate it without putting yourself or others in danger of verbal abuse or physical violence.

We deliver learning experiences to community organisations New Zealand-wide to develop teams and improve the delivery of their services. Our courses are vibrant and inclusive, teaching practical skills that support existing processes.
